Founded in 1990 by Joe Nguyen, Signature Nail System has been the leading dip powder brand within the nail industry for over 30 years and counting. Our hard work and dedication to creating innovative products with both health and beauty in mind have helped us become a household name. So much so that both consumers and nail techs have begun referring to any brand of dip powder as “SNS.” However, not all dip powders are created equal.

At SNS we are extremely proud of our name, and as a brand, we want to share what sets SNS dip powders apart from other dip powder brands.

  • Nail health is our top priority - SNS products are formulated with anti-microbial agents and nutrient-rich ingredients such as Vitamin A, E, D3, B5, calcium, and zinc which make the nails stronger and healthier with every application.
  • Nearly Odorless - Compared to other nail products on the market, there is less odor when using the SNS product line, making our nail treatments a more pleasant experience for both nail techs and consumers.
  • Non-allergenic - Through years of innovation, we have created non-allergenic products making our products safe to be used by anyone, even those with allergies. Our SenShine system of bases and sealers has been exclusively designed for people with highly sensitive skin and eyes, making it even gentler than our original line without sacrificing quality.
  • Ease of application - Whether you’re a professional nail tech or a DIY nail enthusiast, with very little training, almost anyone can become an expert at using SNS dip powders. The application is simple, and the fast-drying products don’t require any UV lights to cure.
  • Easy and gentle removal that won’t damage the natural nail.
  • Endless color options - Over 400 highly-pigmented colors
  • Richer color - Because the pigment is in the actual powder, the color in a dip manicure is the shiniest richest color of any manicure style. And SNS uses an extremely fine grain powder that provides even more color.
  • Color match with SNS MasterMatch 2-in-1 Gel & Polish Combo provides matching products across our product lines for perfectly matched fingers and toes

What is Dip Powder?

Dip powder is a type of nail enhancement product used to create a durable and long-lasting manicure that’s often considered a healthy alternative to traditional acrylic nails. Dip manicures involve a multi-step process where the natural nail is prepped, a base coat is applied, and the nail is dipped into a fine, pigmented powder. This process is repeated for desired color intensity, and then an activator is applied to dry and cure the powder to a hard finish. Finally, the nails are buffed and shaped, and a top coat is added for shine and protection. Compared to other manicure options, dip powder requires zero drying time and no UV light to cure.

What Makes SNS's Dips Higher Quality?

Only the SNS dipping powder system has Nutri-Plus™, a powerful combination of nutrient-rich ingredients added to all the base coat and powders. In addition, SNS powders are finer milled, making for easier application and a more vivid and consistent finish. The SNS “color genius” laboratory has the most advanced system for color design, with the finest and most pigmented colors available. With over 800 SNS colors offered and 200 matching colors for pedicures in the SNS GelStar™ and Nail Lacquer lines, SNS provides perfectly matched manicures and pedicures in a wide range of shades. The SNS dip powder system does not contain any of the 13 toxic chemicals often found in most nail products, along with many other allergenic or harmful ingredients.

Pros and Cons of Dip Powder Manicures

These are popular manicure option due to their long-lasting and durable finish. Here are some pros and cons to consider:

Pros:

  • Durability - Dip powder manicures are known for their durability and can last longer compared to traditional nail polish and other manicure times. They are also virtually chip-free and can maintain their shine for two weeks or more.
  • Low-maintenance - Once applied, they will last a minimum of 2 weeks and usually more without any touch-ups or fills. They also require zero drying time allowing you to go about your day immediately after getting your nails done without worrying about smudges or nicks.
  • NO UV - Unlike gel manicures, dip does not require UV lights for curing. This eliminates the potential risk of UV exposure and time spent under the lamp during the manicure process.
  • Helps nails grow long and strong - Because of its hard, resin-like finish, dip powder provides added strength to natural nails allowing them to grow long and strong.
  • Gentle removal - Compared to acrylics, when removed correctly, dip powder is easy to remove and won’t damage your natural nails.

Cons:

  • Removal process - Compared to traditional nail polish, the removal process can be time-consuming and potentially damaging if removed improperly. However, when removed correctly, it will not damage the natural nail.
  • Thick appearance - Manicures can sometimes appear thicker due to the layering process. This can make the nails feel bulky or less natural-looking, depending on personal preferences. For a natural dip powder application, ensure you apply thin layers of the base coat.
  • Limited at-home application - Some people may become frustrated attempting  to do dip powder manicures at home. It can be challenging to achieve salon-quality results without proper training and equipment, especially with the cheaper brands advertising DIY products.  However, with a little bit of practice and patience, it’s possible achieve salon-quality at home. Our kit comes with everything you need to achieve a flawless dip powder manicure all by yourself.
